FALCO

About The Rest

  • Wasn't Falco's third album entitled "Falco 3" in stead of "3"?
That is not really clear. I choose "3 (Drei)" for the original German release, "3 (Three)" for the original U.S. release and "Falco 3" for the re-release based upon the title printed on the side of the CD case.

  • Why is there three times the album "Falco 3" in the listing?
Actually I consider those three releases of "Falco 3" as three different albums. There is "Drei" the original German release. "Three" the original U.S. release that contains remix versions of Rock Me Amadeus and Vienna Calling in stead of the original songs. And there is "Falco 3" which is a re-release of "Drei" but with a version of "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" that is almost 30 seconds longer.

  • Why do you list the re-release of "Falco 3" and not the re-releases of for instance "Junge Roemer" and "Einzelhaft"?
See the question above. The other re-releases simply didn't add anything new to Falco's discography.

  • But wasn't the slightly longer version already available on other CD's before the re-release of "Falco 3"?
Yes, that is true. It was published before on the "Meine Schoensten Erfolge" and "Meisterstuecke" compilations. But unless you have a need for other songs on those compilations I recommend to get the "Falco 3" re-release for it seems to be a better quality publication.

  • Isn't there also a Falco album entitled "Egoisten"?
Actually "Egoisten" was just the original working title for the "Out Of The Dark Into The Light" album. However, a compilation CD called "Egoisten" with remix versions of "Out Of The Dark Into The Light" has been spotted (July, 2000). Apparently it is or will be released under the Disky label which is known for publishing low-budget CD's in small quantities. Until now this CD has not been located in any regular shop and therefor it is not clear yet if this is an officially released album, a promo, or perhaps even a bootleg.
